Mexico telecom prices fall for 7th consecutive month in December

Tuesday 30 January 2018 | 11:40 CET | News
The price of communications in Mexico fell 0.3 percent year on year in the second half of December, with a 0.5 percent drop in the mobile segment and a 0.4 percent fall in fixed telephony prices helping offset a 4.4 percent rise in pay-TV charges, said telecom regulator IFT, citing the country's National Consumer Price Index (NCPI). Prices have now declined for 7 consecutive months and communications was the only sector to have fallen among the 12 consumer segments analysed by the NCPI in the second half of December, said the IFT.
