Mexico to buy another 4 mln TVs for analogue shutdown

Mexico's communications and transport ministry (SCT) needs to buy another four million digital TV sets to complete its analogue shutdown targets, according to new communications undersecretary Monica Aspe Bernal. The government aims to distribute a total of 13 million digital TVs across the country as part of the process to switch off the analogue signal by 31 December 2015. The analogue shutdown has been completed in Tijuana, Matamoros, Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo and Mexicali, with analogue signals due to be shut down in the regions of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and Tecate in Lower California by 14
