Mexico to launch satellite internet tender this year

The Mexican government is preparing to launch a tender to connect 1,200 Wi-Fi hotspots with satellite-based internet later this year, reports El Universal, citing deputy communications secretary Salma Jalife. "We are in the market study phase where we invite all the companies interested in taking part to make us their offers," said Jalife, adding that the aim is to hold the tender by the end of March.
