Mexico's CFE to offer mobile services to underserved areas via 'Red Compartida'

The Altan Redes consortium tasked with deploying Mexico's 4.5G shared network (Red Compartida) announced a contract to provide wholesale MVNO services to state-owned 'CFE Telecomunicaciones e Internet para Todos'. CFE T&IT, a subsidiary of the country's Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), was last year granted a concession to provide non-profit telecommunications services and internet access to underserved parts of the country.
