Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has announced that it's suspending all activities until 22 September following the earthquake that struck Mexico City and surrounding areas on 19 September. In a statement, the watchdog said all staff were immediately evacuated from its three offices following the 7.1 magnitude quake that caused major damage in the capital and neighbouring states. All its activities and plenary sessions scheduled for 20 and 21 September have been postponed until further notice so that full structural assessments can be carried out at its offices.
