Microsoft announces first OEMs for Windows RT

Microsoft has confirmed the first manufacturers of computers based on its new Windows RT operating system, which uses ARM chip architecture for the first time. Asus, Dell, Lenovo and Samsung will launch devices running Windows RT, and Texas Instruments, Nvidia and Qualcomm have all developed ARM-based chipsets for the Windows products, Microsoft announced in a blog posting. Asus was the first to unveil a tablet running Windows RT, at the Computex trade show in June.
