Microsoft appoints Hood as CFO

Microsoft has named corporate vice president Amy Hood as CFO, effective immediately. She succeeds Peter Klein, who will remain at the company until the end of June to ensure a smooth transition. Microsoft said that Klein would be stepping down at its third quarter results announcement in April. Hood joined Microsoft in December 2002 and has been CFO of Microsoft Business Division since January 2010. In this role she was also involved in strategy development and the execution of Microsoft's acquisition of Skype and Yammer. Hood was previously chief of staff in the Server and Tools group and
