Microsoft launches new philanthropic organisation

Microsoft has announced the launch of a new organisation called Microsoft Philanthropies designed to bring technology's benefits to the people who need them. Microsoft Philanthropies will invest in digital inclusion programmes and partnerships, starting with a previously announced USD 75 million commitment to STEM education over the next three years. This will include investments in non-profit schemes intended to help new business grow in remote areas and connect people to the cloud, said Microsoft. Mary Snapp, who joined Microsoft as its first female attorney in 1988, will be the leader of
