Microsoft looks for search partner in China

Microsoft is looking for a Chinese partner to help make the company a major player in China's internet-search market. Simon Leung, Microsoft's chief executive for greater China, also told the Wall Street Journal that the company plans to invest USD 100 million in Chinese companies, on top of the USD 40 million the software maker has invested since 2006, and could make further investments. He said Microsoft will target companies in sectors including software, cloud computing and possibly gaming. He declined to elaborate on the timing.
