Microsoft has released the public preview of IoT Central, its SaaS run in the Azure cloud to help companies develop and manage devices and applications connected to the IoT. First announced in April, the service is now available for free trials.

Microsoft IoT Central helps businesses build production-grade IoT applications quickly and then manage the resulting data. The company also introduced the Azure IoT Hub Device Provisioning Service to enable provisioning and configuration of connected devices over the Azure cloud.

In the coming months, Microsoft IoT Central will also be able to integrate with customers’ existing business systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP and Salesforce, to support integrated sales, service, and marketing.
