Microsoft to take over Nokia's landmark headquarters

Friday 22 November 2013 | 11:49 CET | News
Microsoft will take over Nokia's headquarters situated in Espoo, just outside Helsinki, after the completion of the software giant's deal to buy the Finnish company's mobile-phone business, writes Bloomberg citing Nokia representatives. Nokia's shareholders recently agreed to sell its device unit to Microsoft in a EUR 5.44 billion (USD 7.3 billion) deal. The majority of workers in the current head office, which Nokia sold last year and leased back to cut costs, work for the unit to be acquired by Microsoft. The deal between Nokia and Microsoft is expected to be completed in the first quarter.
