Millicom completes sale of Tigo Senegal to Saga Africa Holdings consortium

Monday 30 April 2018 | 10:17 CET | News
Millicom has announced that it has completed the sale of its Tigo Senegal business to Saga Africa Holdings, originally agreed in July 2017. Senegal's President Macky Sall signed a decree on 19 April approving the transaction, following a long-running dispute opposing Wari and Millicom over the failed acquisition of the business. The Saga Africa Holdings consortium consists of NJJ (Iliad founder Xavier Niel's private holding company), Sofima (telecom investment vehicle of Axian Group, controlled by the Hiridjee family), and Teyliom Group (owned by Senegalese entrepreneur Yerim Sow).
