Millicom still interested in Telefonica's Central America assets

Luxembourg-based Millicom still has its eyes on the remaining assets of Telefonica in Central America after the Spanish group sold its Guatemala and El Salvador units to America Movil last month, reports El Economista, citing an earlier Bloomberg report. Confirming Millicom's ongoing interest, CFO Tim Pennington said the company "will be happy… to reach an agreement with Telefonica at prices that meet our capital allocation." The deal would involve paying around EUR 500 million for 100 percent of Telefonica's Cost Rican subsidiary and 60 percent of its Panama and Nicaragua units, said El
