Millicom's CEO Ramos named ITU broadband commissioner

Millicom, owner of Tigo-branded operations across Latin America and Africa, said its chief executive Mauricio Ramos has been appointed as a commissioner on the ITU's Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development. Established in 2010 by the ITU and UNESCO, the aim of the Broadband Commission is to bridge the digital divide, bringing the goal of universal connectivity to the forefront of policy discussions via public-private partnerships. It has over 50 commissioners representing top CEOs, industry experts, senior policymakers, government officials and more.
