Mimosa targets fixed-wireless 5G with MicroPop

Tuesday 21 February 2017 | 16:31 CET | News
Mimosa Networks announced the launch of equipment to help develop 5G fixed wireless internet architectures. The urban MicroPoP and rural GigaPoP feature Mimosa's new proprietary Spectrum Reuse Synchronization (SRS) technology, which leverages Massive MIMO and antenna beamforming. Precise time coordination of transmissions, network wide, eliminates the interference caused by other nearby radios. This allows a single access point to efficiently reuse channels rather than wasting spectrum to avoid interference. The Mimosa 5G MicroPoP and GigaPoP target 5G deployments in residential areas.
