Ministry says banning Huawei from Brazilian 5G could increase costs by BRL 77 billion

In a report sent to the Federal Audit Court, Brazil's Ministry of Communications claims that banning one of the three main mobile technology manufacturers - Ericsson, Nokia or Huawei - would increase the costs of 5G deployment in Brazil, reports Telesintese. The additional cost is estimated at BRL 77.8 billion (USD 15 billion), based on two studies conducted by the Telecom Advisory consultancy and by the GSMA.
