Mobile leads growth in German advertising market in 2017

Mobile was the fastest growing out of all advertising segments in Germany in 2017, according to new figures from market researcher Nielsen. The mobile segment saw growth of 39.3 percent from 2016, with expenditures on mobile advertising amounting to EUR 0.7 billion in 2017. Online advertising spending increased 2.3 percent to EUR 3.0 billion for the same period, while television ad spending saw growth of only 1.4 percent to EUR 15.3 billion, and radio advertising expenditures grew 4.7 percent to EUR 1.8 billion. Cinema advertising totaled EUR 0.2 billion and saw growth of 7.8 percent in 2017
