Mobile network consolidation yields higher prices - Rewheel

The EU's single telecom market is threatened by a lack of mobile network infrastructure-based competition in half of the member states and from the absence of pan-European retail operators offering borderless tariffs, according to market researcher Rewheel. Mobile operators charge over three times more for a GB on a smartphone package in Germany (EUR 24) than in the UK (EUR 7) and up to 15 times more than in some small EU member states such as Finland (EUR 1.60).
