Mobile payments double in six months from Adyen platform

Dutch online payments specialist Adyen said that the number of mobile transactions running through its platform almost doubled in the six months to March to 6.2 percent from 3.7 percent. Most mobile purchases were made from an iPhone, followed by the iPad. The company began looking at figures in September, noting that 57 percent of all purchases were made from an iPhone, followed by 25 percent from an iPad, 14 percent from an Android device and 4 percent from Blackberry devices. In the six months to March, the share of payments made over Android devices also almost doubled to 20 percent,
