Mobile, tablets make up 42% of all online viewing - Ooyala

Mobile devices made up 42 percent of all online viewing during the first quarter, with smartphones in particular driving mobile viewing growth, receiving four times more plays than tablets, according to Ooyala's Global Video Index Report. In terms of online viewing, content from broadcasters played more than 53 percent of the time on mobile devices compared to 47 percent on PCs, a major shift in the distribution of video play likely driven by younger viewers, and Millennials in particular. In the quarter, 35 percent of all plays occurred on smartphones, compared to 8 percent on tablets. The
