One out of every 3 Dutch child regularly plays on a tablet, compared to 1 out of every 8 in 2012. The study was conducted by Mediawijzer.net among one thousand parents with children aged 0-7 for the My Child Online Foundation. Around 39 percent of the parents said they gave permission for the child to play in order to give themselves a quiet moment or to combat the child's boredom. Around 46 percent of mothers and 40 percent of the fathers said they would prefer their child to play with something other than digital media.
