Motorola loses appeal in patent case against Apple

A US appeals court ruled that Apple didn't infringe a smartphone patent held by Motorola Mobility that deals with controlling data delivery. The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit's ruling upheld an earlier decision by the US International Trade Commission that said Apple had successfully argued that the Motorola patent was invalid, the Wall Street Journal reports. Motorola said in a statement the company is disappointed in this decision and is evaluating its options.
