Motorola plans smartwatch launch later this year

Motorola Mobility plans to release a smartwatch later this year. At a press conference at Mobile World Congress, the company said it was working to address consumer issues such as style and battery life in the product. The company also hinted that it will launch its next smartphone, a new version of the Moto X, late this summer. The Moto X will roll out to more countries in the coming weeks, including Australia and India, and the company also plans to expand its Moto Maker customisation programme to Western Europe and Mexico in Q2. Motorola said it does not have plans to launch its latest phones in China, but is hoping its pending takeover by Lenovo will open new opportunities there.
