Google Motorola exec leaves to become Dropbox COO
Google executive Dennis Woodside is leaving the company after the agreed sale of the Motorola handset business to join Dropbox as its first chief operating officer. Woodside is a Google veteran of more than 10 years who has been running the Motorola Mobility handset unit. Google confirmed the news to the Wall Street Journal and said Nikesh Arora and Jonathan Rosenberg will take over Woodside's duties. The appointment gives Dropbox a seasoned manager who was previously running Google's advertising sales in the Americas after replacing Tim Armstrong, who became chief executive of AOL.
