Movistar Colombia reports 98% surge in fixed network use in 2020

Movistar Colombia (Telefonica) said its network recorded unprecedented annual increases in consumption in 2020 as a whole, with fixed network use surging 98 percent year on year and mobile data consumption just behind on 87 percent. In a statement describing 2021 as the year of digital consolidation the company said fibre optic activations grew by around 36 percent last year, while 25 percent of postpaid activations were for 'IlimiDatos' all-you-can-eat data plans.
