Movistar+ selects Envivio software for Ultra HD telecast

Tuesday 22 December 2015 | 10:10 CET | News
Software-based video encoding specialist Envivio announced that it helped Telefonica build a converged head-end platform to broadcast the Spanish La Liga match between Real Madrid and Barcelona to satellite pay-TV customers in Ultra High Definition (UHD), as well as to connected devices powered by the Movistar+ application. The 21 November game between Real Madrid and Barcelona was billed by Telefonica as Spain's first ever live 4K stream and Envivio provided the platform for satellite direct-to-home delivery and over-the-top (OTT) applications with full multiscreen functionality.
