Movistar Spain to increase ADSL speed above 10 Mbps - report

Movistar (Telefonica) is set to allow customers subscribing to a fixed broadband plan via ADSL to increase the speed of their connection from the longstanding limit of 10 Mbps, reports website ADSL Zone. Although other Spanish operators offer ADSL speeds of up to 35 Mbps, Movistar has capped the speed at 10 Mbps since 2010 with a view to persuading customers to switch to a multi-play Movistar Fusion package. However, from 07 April new and existing users will be able to access the internet at a speed of up to 30 Mbps as long as their line is suitable. The operator will in turn increase the
