Mozilla buys save-for-later app Pocket

Mozilla has announced the acquisition of popular read-it-later app Pocket for an undisclosed sum. Formerly known as Read It Later, the app launched in 2007 and now has over 10 million active monthly registered users on Android, iOS and the web. Under the terms of the deal, Pocket will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Mozilla Corporation and will become part of the Mozilla open source project. Pocket's core team and technology will help accelerate the broader Context Graph initiative and continue promoting the discovery and accessibility of high quality web content, said Mozilla.
