Mozilla develops Chromecast rival - report

Monday 23 June 2014 | 14:44 CET | News
Mozilla has been working on its on HDMI stick to rival Google's Chromecast for delivering internet content services to TVs, according to a report from GigaOM. A picture of the device appeared on Twitter, and the report's author claims to have seen the prototype and spoken to the developers involved. However, it's unclear what the device is called or when it may be launched. The dongle runs the Firefox OS, but can also work with apps from Chromecast. Mozilla declined to comment, saying only that Firefox was an open system with which companies were free to experiment.
