Mozilla expands Firefox on TVs, streaming video platforms

Panasonic has announced its 2015 lineup of Life+ Screen 4K smart TVs powered by the Firefox OS at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The new Firefox user interface developed with Mozilla will be available on Panasonic TVs available from this spring. The two companies launched the first Firefox-based TVs a year ago. In the new range, the TVs will provide on-screen notifications from applications, and, in future, from compatible connected appliances. Mozilla is also continuing its partnership with Matchstick to develop Firefox-based streaming video devices. Matchstick announced
