MP calls for white space spectrum tests in Netherlands

Kess Verhoeven, an opposition member of the Dutch parliament, has called on the government and Telecom Agency to start working on developing the use of 'white space' spectrum for wireless broadband services. The UK recently announced plans to test the technology, and other countries such as the US and France are also working on use of white space spectrum. Dutch companies should also be able to profit from the technology, the MP said. He told news site Nu.nl that the government should not only permit such tests, but be encouraging them.
