MTN asserts faith in Nigerian market, seeks more spectrum

The MTN Group said it has implicit confidence in its operations in Nigeria, despite the NGN 330 billion fine imposed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in 2016, reports the Daily Post. The group said it has injected over USD 16 billion in its Nigerian operations. Group chairman/CEO Phuthuma Freedom Nhleko, who held talks with NCC's Executive Vice Chairman, Umar Danbatta and top management of the NCC, said the group has faith in Nigeria and will be willing to invest more in the sector in the years to come.
