MTN dismisses Turkcell accusations

MTN Group has refuted all accusations made by Turkcell in connection to its operations in Iran. The Turkish mobile operator has launched a USD 4.2 billion lawsuit in a US court accusing MTN of bribing its way to the Iranian licence and alleging human rights abuses. In a statement, MTN Group CEO Sifiso Dabengwa accused Turkcell of making sensationalist allegations about the group obtaining a licence in Iran, and also refuted the charges of human rights abuses as both false and offensive.
