Friday 31 July 2020 | 12:36 CET | News

MTN Ghana's revenue increased by 19.5 percent to GHS 2.89 billion in the first six months of 2020. EBITDA rose 29.1 percent year-on-year to GHS1.55 billion, and the EBITDA margin improved by 4.1 percentage points to 53.6 percent, helped by cost efficiency initiatives and distribution savings. Net profit rose by 52.3 percent to GHS 689.51 million.

Capex for the period was GHS 715.61 million, down from GHS 803.05 million a year earlier.

Subscribers increased by 4.1 percent to 21.5 million at the end of June, and active data subscribers rose 5.2 percent to 9.1 million. Active mobile money users increased by 5.1 percent to 9.8 million.

MTN said market conditions are expected to remain challenging for the remainder of the financial year as the extent and economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic are uncertain.
