MTN Ghana to refuse proxies for MoMo transactions

MTN Ghana has ruled out the use of proxies for withdrawing cash from MTN Mobile Money accounts. MTN Ghana Mobile Money CEO Eli Hini said if the person doing the cash-out is not the owner, the transaction will not be done, as it could be a fraudster impersonating the account holder. Earlier, the operator had announced that from 02 April, Mobile Money subscribers would have to present valid ID cards before any MoMo withdrawal could be processed.
