MTN Group plans to sell stake in Jumia - report

Thursday 6 August 2020 | 09:39 CET | News
MTN Group is planning to sell part or all of its USD 243 million interest in Jumia Technologies as it seeks to pay down debt and enter new markets, Bloomberg reported citing people familiar with the matter. MTN had previously marked the online retailer as a non-core business and is reviving plans for a sale after Jumia's shares surged 142 percent this year, recovering from a dip in 2019, one of the sources said.
