MTN Nigeria goes ahead with USD 53 mln payment to settle repatriation dispute

MTN Nigeria has paid the USD 53 million settlement in the money transfer dispute with the central bank over repatriated funds and the matter has been withdrawn from court, Governor Godwin Emefiele said, according to The Cable. Emefiele said the money paid by MTN was a "notional sum" and that the company has been absolved of any wrongdoing, following meetings with MTN officials in December 2018.
