MTN Nigeria tax case waits until February as judge is absent

Wednesday 5 December 2018 | 10:12 CET | News
The absence of Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke stalled the hearing of a suit by MTN Nigeria against the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) at the Federal High Court in Lagos on 03 December, ThisDay reported. MTN is challenging the legality of the NGN 242 billion and USD 1.3 billion import duties and withholding tax assessment. Hearing the pending applications could not take place as scheduled, as Justice Aneke was away on an official duty, and the court consequently adjourned the hearing until 07 February 2019.
