MTN partners KaiOS, China Mobile and Unisoc to launch 3G smart feature phone

African operator MTN Group, feature phone operating system KaiOS Technologies, China Mobile and chipmaker Unisoc announced a partnership to launch a 3G smart feature phone in Africa, powered by KaiOS. In a joint statement, the companies said the new product will allow customers to upgrade from a feature phone with only voice and text capabilities to a fully connected handset with fast, 3G internet.
