MTN says CEO in talks with NCC over fine

MTN announced that its Group CEO is engaging with the Nigerian authorities on the regulatory aspects of the USD 5.2 billion imposed on the mobile operator. In a statement to the stock market, MTN  said that its senior management and advisors also are in talks with the Johannesburg Stock Exchange after the announcement of the fine 26 October sent MTN's share price plunging. The Nigerian Communications Commission issued the fine for failure to meet the requirements for disconnecting customers who had not registered their personal details with their mobile Sims.
