MTN South Africa halts new mobile money sign-ups

MTN South Africa has stopped signing up new mobile money customers as it studies the feasibility of the product, reports Fin24. In 2012, it partnered with the South African Bank of Athens, Pick n Pay and Boxer stores to launch the mobile money service, enabling basic bank accounts to be opened via phones.
