MTN South Sudan halves workforce

MTN South Sudan has scaled back its staff and operations because of the economic costs of the civil war and devaluation of the local currency in 2015. It said it has cut its foreign staff by 75 percent and nationals by 55 percent. MTN employed 170 people, who have been reduced to about 80 after the restructuring, said MTN South Sudan Head of Corporate Services, Khumbulani Dhlomo.
