MTN South Sudan plans to invest USD 30 mln to revive operations

MTN South Sudan said it is investing at least USD 30 million in revitalising and expanding its operations amid peace prospects. Khumbulani Dhlomo, MTN's local head of corporate services, told Bloomberg that it plans to plans to revive transmission sites, upgrade to 3G and add new coverage. Dhlomo said the expansion is a sign of confidence after a period of cutbacks, after warring sides in the country signed a peace accord in September 2018.
