MTN Swazi seeks own international connectivity

MTN Swaziland does not want to depend on Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) for international connectivity but is seeking its own gateway, The Times reports. SPTC is the only licensed international voice and data gateway operator in Swaziland. CEO Ambrose Dlamini said none of the operators should be placed in the hands of their competitor. He noted that at the present moment, Swazi MTN was at the mercy of SPTC for its international gateway, backbone infrastructure and 3G licence.
