MTNL widens net loss in December quarter

Indian state-run operator MTNL widened its net loss to INR 8.19 billion in the quarter ended 31 December 2016, from a loss of INR 7.68 billion in the previous quarter, and of INR 6.71 billion in the year-earlier period. For the quarter ended 31 December 2016, total income from operations decreased to INR 6.90 billion from INR 7.56 billion in the year-ago quarter.
