Russian operator MTS has launched its new smart number ID service with a spam protection function. The service can identify a caller even if the telephone number isn't included in a known list. The system marks calls by colours, defining them as reliable or potential spam. The analysis is carried out using the BiG Data MTS system. Algorithms in the service attach incoming numbers to categories of financial, health or other service providers.
