MTS signs smart city, big data cooperation agreements with Far-East regions

Russian mobile operator MTS has signed cooperation agreements with governments of the Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Amur and Khabarovsk regions, as well as with the republics of Buryatia and Sakha. The agreements were signed during the Far-East Economy Forum. 

The cooperations will focus on Smart City services and projects based on big data services from MTS, which will enable to design of digital copies of the cities.  

MTS plans to invest more than RUB 1.4 billion in the Khabarovsk region by the end of 2021. Cloud, integration and Big Data services from MTS will be used to carry out digitalisation projects in the region. IoT projects will be carried out on the operator's NB-IoT network, launched in April.

About RUB 1 billion will be invested in the Republic of Buryatia by the end of 2021. The investment will also cover digitalisation of waste management systems, as well as other projects.
