MultiChoice group revenue rises 3% in H1, active subscribers up 5%

MultiChoice Group (MCG) generated revenue of ZAR 6.87 billion in the six months to 30 September compared with ZAR 26.06 billion in the same period in 2020, with organic revenue growth of 10 percent, driven by a 7 percent increase in subscription revenues and a recovery of 77 percent in advertising revenues. The revenue contribution of the Rest of Africa and Technology businesses was reduced by the stronger rand (ZAR) on translation, which resulted in a lower reported revenue growth of 3 percent.
