MultiChoice Kenya has no plans to cut jobs despite competition from video streaming platforms

Monday 28 October 2019 | 09:48 CET | News
MultiChoice Kenya has sought to allay redundancy fears as it faces stiff competition from online streaming platforms, Business Daily reported. It has released a socio-economic impact report and said that the rise in entertainment streaming sites such as Youtube and Netflix will not affects its workforce, as internet penetration in Kenya is still low. The firm had made an announcement in June, indicating that it would shed more than 2,000 staff in South Africa, which sent shockwaves to employees at its other operations in the region.
