MVNO OpenMobile declared bankrupt

The Dutch MVNO OpenMobile was declared bankrupt in July, according to filings with a court in Almere. The company recorded a loss of EUR 248,677 in 2015, and the losses continued into the first months of 2016. OpenMobile launched in May 2015, offering family plans with parental controls. It used the T-Mobile network and Elephant Talk as MVNE. The bankruptcy documents show that high marketing costs proved a problem for OpenMobile. It relied initially on external marketing agencies, which resulted in high costs and not the best results. The company said it generated a great deal of positive
